Zainul Haque Sikder Women’s Medical College & Hospital Leading Women’s Medical College in Asia. The college facilities occupy a modern two-story 450,000 square feet building overlooking a lake. This western style campus accommodates comfortably all its faculties and students. As of year 2001, enrolment exceeds 600 medical students with about 20 percent of those being foreign students. The medical college is accredited by Dhaka University and by Medical and Dental Council of Bangladesh since its inception in 1992. All Curriculum and final Examinations are administered by Dhaka University.

The members of the teaching staff are all experienced and renowned professors in their respective medical specialties. They are supported with up-to-date medical equipments and instruments for teaching and internship training program. The college curriculum offers in all pre-clinical and clinical medical disciplines that are required in Bangladesh for the undergraduate M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree. This curriculum is five year program, during which time professional M.B.B.S. examinations are administered by Dhaka University during specific intervals, including final M.B.B.S. degree examination after completion of degree program. After completion and passing of final M.B.B.S. examinations, students proceed to a full year of hospital internship training to gain experience in actual patient care in various medical departments. Dhaka University awards the new doctors their M.B.B.S. degree certificate at the end of internship training. In a few short years, ZainulHaqueSikder Women’s Medical College and Hospital has become a very important health care education institution in Bangladesh. The first batch of students appeared in the Final Professional M.B.B.S. examination in January of 1999.

Objectives of the College After passing the M.B.B.S. examination and completing the internship training the medical graduates coming out from this College should be professionally competent. Be able to act as health educator. Be capable of continuing education, proceed to higher education or specialization and carry out basic research. Have leadership qualities to work in the community. Have administrative quality and understanding in accountancy. Be able to support and provide primary health care towards ‘health for all’ by the year 2018.Be able to help preserve national culture and custom.
