Sylhet Women's Medical College

Sylhet Women’s Medical College (SWMC) is a private medical school in Bangladesh, exclusively for female students, established in 2005. It is located in Mirboxtola, in central Sylhet. It is affiliated with Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) under the School of Medical Sciences.

The college is located in Mirboxtola, in central Sylhet, between the major intersections Chowhatta Point and NoyaSarak Point. There are two chief buildings on the 3 acres (1.2 ha) campus: one high-rise containing the college and another containing the associated 625-bed teaching hospital.

Sylhet Women’s Medical College and Hospital are sister concerns of Holy Sylhet Holding Limited which also has two auxiliary companies called Holy Land Private Limited and Sylhet Health and Education Services Limited. Aside from Sylhet Women’s Medical College and Hospital, Holy Sylhet Holding Limited is in the process of developing a Dental College and a four-year Nursing College to create world standard quality dentists and registered nurses.

The library’s mission is to acquire, organize and facilitate access to knowledge-based biomedical information resources that enable Sylhet women’s Medical College students, faculty, physicians and other health care providers to advance their education, research or patient care activities at the Sylhet Women’s Medical College. SWMC library is fully air-conditioned. It is enriched with good collection of latest edition of books to meet the need of students and teachers. Text, reference book, medical journals of different discipline, internet facilities are available.

Students of the hostel must reside in their allotted seats at the hostel. The Hostel is situated within the campus. Hostels have the facilities such as dining room, common room with arrangements for games, TV etc.
